Participate in Survey Research on Depression
People living with depression have much to teach researchers of depression. We want to learn from your experiences. Periodically, members of the UDSG team carry out online surveys on focused issues related to depression. We announce these surveys through our support group at DailyStrength.org. If you would like to have the opportunity to participate in these surveys, please join our group at Daily Strength to be added to our email list.
It is important that you know the following:
- Our surveys are annonymous. We collect no information about your personal identity from you.
- Of course, participation is completely voluntary.
- All surveys are approved by the lead team member's Institutional Review Board (IRB). The purpose of an IRB is to review the procedures used in studies involving human subjects to ensure that the study is carried out in an ethical manner and does not pose an unreasonable risk to participants.
- No compensation is offered for your participation. The small amount of time it takes to complete these surveys can generate a wealth of information that will help us to help the community of people living with depression.
- After each study is completed, we will post a brief description of major findings. Members will be notified via email when a summary is posted.
- Some surveys pertain to a specific kind of person, such as just men or just women, older patients, patients diagnosed with a particular kind of depression, and so forth. Please understand that these eligibility criteria allow us to carry out focused work on specific segments of the community and should be taken seriously.
